Lauren's Vacation, Part 2: VEGAS

Lauren and Kate, the maid of honor

I moved on from Phoenix to Vegas on Friday (two Fridays ago) for Lauren G's bachelorette party. We had a BLAST! We stayed at the MGM Grand Signature Hotel, which is a non-smoking, non-gaming hotel a five minute walk from the MGM grand (inside, moving walkways, of course; who would want to walk outside?). We spent our days by the pool and our nights dancing!

Some pics of the group:

And there's one more Vegas story to share. When I met up with Mom and Dad in Phoenix, Dad gave me $20. He gave me very specific instructions: Go to a $5 slot machine, play two credits, and see what happens. First of all, let's just say I never would have hit up the $5 slots with my own money, but with dad's... oh yeah! Second, we decided on a 50/50 splits for the winnings (yeah right, huh?).

Well, I played the first two credits and the $10 went pretty quickly with one roll. So, I went to playing single credits for the next two and I started winning. A few here a few there and in one roll, I won 80 credits ($400) and that put me at $510! I didn't realize it at first, with it being listed as credits instead of dollars, but then I did the math and my jaw dropped. I did one more spin, just in case, and didn't win. So, I cashed out right away and beat the casino with $250 for me and $250 for dad! The vacation paid for itself. YES!!!

Just call me lucky. And sunburned. :-)

Lauren's Vacation, Part One: PHOENIX!

My vacation posts have been a long time coming... sorry! I had an amazing break from work and rain while visiting the southwest. The first leg of my trip was fantabulous- I got to visit Kristen!!!!! We had a great time, and lucky for you, it was chronicled in pictures :-)

I got in late Tuesday night and we headed to the famous Pizzeria Bianco. On a Tuesday night, we waited nearly four hours to eat! Luckily, we got to catch up over a few glasses of beer and wine while we waited....

Wednesday, Lu had to work, so I got to hang with ESPY! What a sweet (big) dog. He loved me... hehehe. After work, we headed to her softball team's championship game. Guess who won? Kristen's team smashed the opponents! I think it had a lot to do with their cheering squad (me and a few other friends)!

Thursday, Kristen and I headed to Sedona (thanks for taking the day off!) to get away from the city and see the sights. It was SO COOL. Pictures, unfortunately, don't do it justice.

We drove back Thursday night to be greeted by Mom and Dad who flew in for her graduation! I capped off a fantabulous trip with Kristen Lu with margaritas and cheering for indoor soccer. Unfortunately, I had to head out before the graduation festivities on Friday, but you can find more info on those here.

Kristen, you were an amazing hostess; thanks so much for everything!

Happy Mother's Day and Family Filled Fun!

Well, sorry it's a few days late, but Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms out there! Mom (Susan) and Mom (Linda), you are the best. We really cannot thank you enough for all you have done for us. Your love, compassion and support has been everything to us. Thank you.

Speaking of family, Linda and Bruce have been visiting us for the past few days! It's been great to have them around. We have been busy eating, drinking, and enjoying good weather and company! Saturday, we took a picnic to Chateau Ste Michelle winery in Woodinville, bought a bottle of wine and enjoyed the sun! We then did a little wine tasting there and at a joint winery up the road (Novelty Hill & Jaunik share a tasting room). So much fun! After that, we headed to the Boat Street Cafe for a very, very yummy dinner.

For Mother's Day, we headed down to the stadium and met mom and dad (susan and tim) for a mother's day lunch and a sunny, fun baseball game. The M's won! WOAH! It was such a blast. That night, Bryan and Bruce cooked a fabulous meal of Halibut and grits. Amazing!!!

It's been so nice to have them around and wish we could do it more often! But, today we're all splitting ways. First, I leave to go visit Kristen- YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see her! Then, Bruce and Linda have to head home. Sad! But, we've had a great time with them and can't wait until next time!

Hope you all are doing wonderfully!

Love, Lauren and Bryan

Happy Birthday Uncle Mark!!!!

We all gathered for Uncle Mark's birthday lunch at Suncadia (two weekends in a row!) to enjoy family and stories of far flung marshmallows.
What a good looking group (and quite amazing that almost everyone can be completely seen in this picture- good thing Dev's so tall)! Thanks all for a good time- hope it's not too long until we get together again!
