Fun Weekend....
Hi all! Hope you had a great weekend. We did! We left Saturday afternoon and drove over Snoqualmie Pass through the rain/snow to meet Mom and Dad (Berndt) in Cle Elum at Suncadia Resort for Mom's Birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!).
We got there just in time for the cold and rain (and we thought it was going to be nice... oops!). We went out for dinner/beer/shuffleboard at a local bar (Roslyn, WA) called the Brick. It was awesome! Great atmosphere, great burgers, and a ton of fun playing shuffleboard.
Yesterday morning, we woke up for birthday cinnamon rolls and headed out to the golf course... in the sun! It cleared up and turned into a pretty nice day and wasn't too cold in the sun. We all played pretty well- Dad broke 90, Bryan broke 100, and well... I played pretty darn well, considering it's been awhile. Oh yeah, and we got sunburned. Pretty badly :-)
We then headed to Grandpa and Georgette's and had Georgette's special yogurt dinner to celebrate Mom's Bday... yum! It was capped off by a piece of Strawberry Rhubarb pie from yours truly and some joking about how burned Bryan and I were. We really need to try to get out more often.... Oh yeah, and I left my camera at G & G's so the pictures will be coming later!
In other news, welcome back to the Hamilton clan! We can't say that we feel all that bad for you getting stuck in Paris for an extra week, but we're glad you made it back finally!
We hope you all have a great week and we'll be in touch soon!
Love, Lauren & Bryan

Just thought we'd give a quick update on life in the Hamilton House. In exciting news, we had steak dinner and celebrated the purchase of four tickets for the Panthers V Seahawks here in Seattle. We're hoping to get visitors for the other two tix. We also have visitors coming soon, Mom and Dad (Hamilton) are heading west in two weeks, assuming they make it home from Paris tomorrow one week late as planned. Also, one week from tomorrow I'll be heading up dinner for 650 at work. My first huge party of the new gig. It is in a park in Redmond, a hospital gala and auction. Steak tenderloin with blue cheese demi, honey laquered baby carrots, seared halibut with cilantro pistou, and spring corn risotto for 650... so, needless to say, I've got a busy week ahead. I'll be sure and update you all as to how it goes. In other news, Lauren made it her 6 months with no candy, and went shopping today for a celebration - she got a new leather coat, and a summer dress, and I'll admit she definitely deserved it (I promised her $1000.00, but unfortunately I didn't really have it....whoops). Hopefully this finds all of you well, love you all, and see you soon!

Happy Birthday Scott and Walla Walla Fun Fun
Tonight we made it to our first M's game of the year! Unfortunately, the players didn't really show up- quite a poor offensive showing. HOWEVER, we met up with Scott and were there to help him celebrate his birthday!!! So, Happy Birthday Scott! And, let's hope the Mariner's remember that they need to score some runs or hit the baseball in order to win the game... if not, we're in for a long season :)
This past weekend, I went to Walla Walla for my friend Beth's Bachelorette Party. It was an amazing time- what a girl's weekend! We did a lot of wine tasting (a friend works for a winery and got us quite a deal). We were tasting right out of the barrel! We even got to taste a wine that retails for $100. It was so much fun.

The time is here to begin relaxing, though... it was quite the past few weeks. On another note, I got some exciting news. I've decided to take a career change and have got into school to achieve that goal! It's been quite a wild ride to finally figure out what I wanted to do, but it's been in front of my eyes the whole time. I am going to be a teacher! High school chemistry and math! I just heard Friday that I got into Seattle Pacific University's Master in Education program. It's an alternative route to certification, meaning is an intense one-year program. I am very, very excited and happy to be moving towards a new career.
Each and every one of you really has helped me get to this career change whether you know it or not. Family and friends are amazing and the part you all play in mine and Bryan's lives are much to be thankful for. Thank you all!
Love, Lauren and Bryan
PS- I was traveling last week, so didn't get the chance to post: HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENZ! We hope you had a fabulous day and a fun vacation weekend!

Mariner's Tickets!
Hi all! So excited, I had to share. Bryan and I just got tickets for the Mariner's home opening game next Monday! Yay!!! We had to buy a flex-pass 6 games of tickets to do it, but it's well worth it- we'd be going to that many games anyway! Wahoo!

A little dog and an orange tian
Last week, we were dog sitting for Blitzen- so much fun! She and Bruno get along really well. He's so good with her... tames down the wrastlin' so she can join in on the fun :-) Bruno always gets a little confused around Blitzen, though, because he isn't allowed on the couch, but we can't keep her off! I'm not sure he realizes that she's 1/5 of his size. But, Bruno does sneak some food of hers when we aren't looking, so I think that it evens out in his mind! Blitzen was the star of the show when we went to the Farmer's market for flowers on Easter. Actually, I think all four of us were a spectacle: Bryan and I walking two very different dogs... a Mutt and Jeff combo, if you will.

On Easter, we got to spend a lot of time with friends and family. We picked Sarah up from the airport and she went with us to Lauren and Brent's apartment where we had Easter Brunch with a few other friends. Very yummy and fun! Then, we came home and got to go see the tanned folks Mom and Dad turned into in Mexico! I haven't seen Mom with that blonde of hair in a REALLY long time! It totally bleached out, but was super cute!
Over the weekend, I also tried a new baking adventure. It's a website called The Daring Kitchen, and every month they post a "daring baking" recipe that is a challenge of sorts. You're supposed to make a dessert completely from scratch, according to their directions, but with whatever changes they "allow". I've been intrigued by the idea and finally decided to try the March challenge. It was an Orange Tian (whatever that means!)- but boy, did it turn out yummy! It was a great Easter dessert and quite a challenge for me (no buying orange marmalade from the store... I made it!), which was totally fun. I didn't burn down the townhouse or burn myself and it tasted and looked beautiful at the end, so it was a success!
Anyway, halftime is over, so back to the game! I hope everyone is doing wonderfully!! Oh, and even though I usually pull for the underdog, I win my March Madness pool at work if Duke wins, so Go Blue Devils! ALSO, in other big news: opening baseball day! Wahoo! Go M's!!!
